Jasper Johns, an American Artist, was born on May 15, 1930. Johns began drawing at three years of age and has since become a very successful artist by following his passion. He was born in Georgia and spent many of his formative years in South Carolina. In 1949, he moved to New York and presently lives in Connecticut.
His most well-known painting, Flag, was completed in 1955. Johns uses many pop culture subjects and themes in his paintings, but he is not typically described as a pop artist.
